Today’s freebie is the Cazimi Shrug! This pattern is free in this post or purchase the ad-free printable download here. This pattern is a kit with Lion Brand. This blog is a free preview of the complete pattern. Explore new-to-you stitches and practice the required techniques.

The Cazimi Shrug is worked entirely in Granite Lace Stitch, using intarsia colorwork technique. Intarsia could be considered an intermediate technique, but is quite simple. Once and/or if you’re comfortable working with multiple colors and changing colors, this simple color blocked print is easy to work up. Each color-block consists of the same number of rows and stitches, making for simple mindless stitching.

DESCRIPTION

The Cazimi Shrug offers a fresh twist on traditional lace knitting, combining open work with contemporary colorblocking for a truly modern look. It’s the perfect layering piece for adding a touch of elegance and visual interest to any outfit. Garter stitch encapsulates Granite Lace Stitch texture throughout.

Leah Gordon

Hi! I’m Leah, a wife, mother to 4 children, maker, designer, and all things in front and behind I Play With Fiber. From a young age, I considered myself creative and had big dreams of being a designer. I never imagined I would eventually be creating my fabrics by hand, blogging about this journey, or publishing patterns. I’ve been self-publishing since 2018 and began an ongoing partnership with Lion Brand Yarn to produce knit and crochet kits in 2021. Knitting and crocheting have restored my sense of independence and self-confidence. They remind me how capable I am of doing whatever I put my mind to accomplish. My design style blends simple shapes, eye-catching textures, and experimentation with color. My goal with I Play With Fiber is that each of you makes space for moments of mindfulness while crafting timeless pieces.
